2009 Temperatures

2009 was near normal in terms of annual average temperature.

When the final numbers are in, the Northeast’s average temperature for 2009 will be very close to normal in spite of the cool summer and unusually warm November. Most months were within a degree or two of normal, the notable exceptions were January, with a negative departure of 4.5 degrees; July, 3.0 degrees below normal; and November, at 4.5 degrees above normal.
