Our preliminary research has indicates that adult mosquitos (Culex) populations are typically high during periods of time when precipitation exceeds evaporation.
Negative values indicate that evapotranspiration exceeded precipitation.
Approximately 700 rain gauge sites are used to produce the last map that shows the total rainfall (inches) observed over the last 7 days.
