Parched Start to August
Much of the Northeast saw little rainfall during the first half of August, with Williamsport, PA, being record dry with only a trace. In northern parts of the region, this lack of rainfall combined with hotter-than-normal temperatures led to a notable expansion of drought and abnormal dryness.
