As of mid-October, some southern and coastal parts of the region have yet to see their first frost or freeze.
As shown above, about half of the Northeast region has seen an end to the growing season with either a frost or freeze by October 18. This matches up fairly well with what is considered normal for first frost and first freeze for our region. A few more areas could see frost as cool air settles over the region from the 21st to 23rd, however, above normal temperatures are expected in the Northeast for the following week.
