So far this winter, snowfall has ranged from less than 6 inches to more than 6 feet.

With only two weeks left in meteorological winter, the season is shaping up to be a warm one across the Northeast. From December 1, 2012 through February 14, 2013 the average temperature at 34 of 35 climate sites ranked in the top 30 warmest. As for snowfall, Feb 1-14, 2013 was one of the top 30 snowiest at 26 sites. That’s in large part due to the February 8-9th storm that dropped up to 40" of snow on the Northeast. When examining winter so far, 11 sites report the season to be one of their snowiest while 5 sites report it to be one of their least snowiest.
