Cool July

July has gotten off to a cool start, with temperatures 2°F to 8°F below normal.

A persistent weather pattern that brought cooler-than-normal temperatures to the region in June has persisted into the first week of July. There’s a glimmer of hope for the rest of the month - a survey of the major cities in the Northeast indicated that the years with the coolest start to the month ended up with a monthly average that was near normal.
