Snowfall Surplus for Some
Hartford has already received more than double its normal December snowfall.
December has already been a very snowy month for a couple of sites. For instance, Hartford, Worcester, and Albany have all seen more snowfall than they typically see in an entire December. In fact, with nearly three weeks left in the month, this December already ranks among the 20 snowiest Decembers on record for those sites and Islip!
This year’s first measurable snow occurred between early November and mid-December.
All 35 major climate sites have now seen their first measurable snow of the season. The most recent round arrived on December 11, a bit earlier than usual for D.C., Wilmington, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City. In addition, Allentown picked up its first inch of snow. Nine major climate sites are still waiting to see their first inch, which usually arrives at those sites sometime between mid-December and early January.
