A Cool, Dry November…So Far
Dry conditions continued right into November.
With the exception of a few areas, November so far has been extremely dry in the Northeast. Twenty-nine of the 35 airport climate sites have seen below-normal precipitation, with Williamsport, PA, the driest at 9 percent of normal. With a continuing lack of precipitation, parts of the region are still experiencing abnormally dry and moderate drought conditions.
The first two weeks of November were colder than normal at 29 airport climate sites. While the majority of the region was within 3 degrees of normal, West Virginia was much colder. The Mountain State saw temperatures approaching 7 degrees below normal.
